SIX SERPENTS AND A TARANTULA

“Violence begets violence. Blood begets blood. Thus it always has been, thus it always will be.”

Arland Town. Wyoming. The year of our Lord 1888:

This is the true story of the Woman in Blue, what was done to her, and what she did in revenge. This is a story about tyrants and those who survive them. Told by five brothel girls, the spin of a gun decides who plays who each time, meaning no single performance is the same.

Critically-acclaimed all-female company Old School Players brings us an Old West tale of vengeance and love in a world narrated exclusively by men – until now.

Six Serpents and a Tarantula toured regionally in Summer 2021, before transferring to the Hen & Chickens Theatre in London in November 2021.

RESPECT UK

We collaborated with charity partner Respect on this project. Respect is a pioneering UK domestic abuse organisation leading the development of safe, effective work with perpetrators, male victims and young people using violence in their close relationships. Respect supports frontline organisations across the UK, so that together we can end domestic abuse. We wanted to explore these issues in Six Serpents and a Tarantula whilst raising awareness for a charity that tackles domestic abuse at its roots. 10% of funds raised with our crowdfunding campaign went to Respect UK, and we continue to promote theirs and other relevant helplines on our social media and flyers.
